I live in Westmont and handle every repair personally. No subcontractors and no call center: when you call, you talk to me, and I am the one who comes to your home.
I repair gas and electric ranges: igniters and spark modules, burners, valves, elements and controls, including pro-style ranges like Wolf.
You will always know the price before I start. Call me any time: (630) 414-9155.
What usually causes it
Burner clicks but won't light
A dirty or wet burner cap, a misaligned cap, a cracked igniter, or a faulty spark module.
Burner keeps clicking after lighting
Moisture from a spill, or a failed spark switch.
Electric element won't heat
A burned-out element, a loose terminal block, or a failed infinite switch.
Weak or yellow flame
A clogged burner port or an air-to-gas mixture problem.
Controls or display dead
A failed control board, a blown fuse, or a power supply problem.
Around here
Gas ranges are the norm in most DuPage kitchens. If you smell gas, turn the burners off, do not use switches or flames, leave the house and call Nicor Gas or 911 first. Once the gas utility has made it safe, we handle the repair: igniters, spark modules, valves, burner heads and controls.
Before the technician arrives
- Let spills dry completely before trying a burner again.
- Make sure burner caps sit flat and centered.
- If you smell gas, turn off the burners, open windows, don't use switches, leave the house and call your gas company.
Repair or replace?
Ranges and stoves usually last 13 to 15 years or more. Igniters, switches, elements and valves are affordable repairs, so replacing the whole range rarely makes sense unless the oven body is badly damaged.
Keep it running longer
- Wipe spills quickly, especially around the igniter.
- Clean burner heads and caps regularly.
- Don't use foil on drip pans or under burners.
- Check that the range is level for even cooking.

Stove & Range repair questions
Is it safe to use a range that clicks constantly?
It's usually not dangerous, but have it checked. It wears the spark module and can be a sign of a failing switch.
Do you repair gas and electric ranges?
Yes, gas, electric, dual-fuel and induction ranges.
Why is my flame yellow?
Usually a dirty burner or an air-gas mixture problem. A proper flame is mostly blue.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the house and call your gas company or 911 from outside. Don't use switches or phones inside.
