Sub-Zero Refrigerator Repair in Westmont & DuPage County
Built-in, integrated and column Sub-Zero refrigerators, freezers and wine storage, including older 500 and 600 series units that many other companies will not touch. Sealed-system work is done in-house by an EPA 608 certified technician.
Common Sub-Zero problems we fix
Not cooling, or warmer than usual
Most often a dirty condenser (on most built-ins it sits on top, behind the grille), a condenser or evaporator fan that has stopped, or a defrost problem. On older units, a compressor, leak or restriction in the sealed system.
Freezer frosting up or fridge iced at the back
A defrost heater, defrost terminator or control problem, or a door that is not sealing and letting humid air in.
Ice maker stopped
A frozen fill tube, a failing water valve, a clogged filter, or the ice maker module itself.
Door not closing or not sealing
Worn gaskets or a hinge closer cam. A poor seal makes the compressor run constantly and shortens its life.
Running all the time or noisy
Usually a dirty condenser or a failing fan motor. Worth fixing early, before it wears out the compressor.

I live in Westmont and handle every repair personally. No subcontractors and no call center: when you call, you talk to me, and I am the one who comes to your home.
I am EPA 608 certified, so I can repair compressors and refrigerant leaks. A good built-in refrigerator rarely needs to be replaced.
You will always know the price before I start. Call me any time: (630) 414-9155.
Before you call
- Clean the condenser about twice a year; on many built-ins it is behind the top grille.
- Keep the vents inside clear so air can circulate.
- If the display shows a service code, write it down before you call.
- Have the model and serial number ready; it saves time on parts.

Sub-Zero repair questions
Is it worth repairing an old Sub-Zero?
Usually yes. A built-in Sub-Zero is expensive to replace and the cabinetry was made for it. Even sealed-system repairs are typically a fraction of replacement.
Do you repair the older 500 and 600 series?
Yes. Many of these units are still in DuPage kitchens, and parts and sealed-system work are still very doable.
Are you a Sub-Zero factory service center?
No. We are an independent repair company. We use OEM parts where they are available and quote the repair before starting.
Do you repair Sub-Zero appliances near me?
Yes. We are based in Westmont and repair Sub-Zero appliances across DuPage County, including Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Lombard, Darien, Woodridge and Clarendon Hills. We're open 24/7.
We are an independent repair company, not a factory service center. Brand names belong to their owners.
